Prague castle on the bank of the Vltava

The Norfolk Festival is sponsoring its first international group tour in March 2009 in celebration of the Haydn Anniversary. Director Paul Hawkshaw will personally guide music lovers through the romantic cities of Prague and Vienna where Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms flourished.

In addition to luxurious five-star accommodations, the tour will visit principal musical sites including Vienna’s hallowed Musikverein and the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt. The group will stop for dinner at the Palais Pallavicini and lunch in a beautiful home in Hietzing. There will be music throughout: private concerts in the castle at Dürnstein, the Haydn House in Vienna and Haydn’s birthplace in Rohrau, and tickets for the spectacular Vienna State Opera and the Czech National Theater where Mozart’s Don Giovanni was premiered.
